Browning's SSAT school code is 1906 and the ISEE school code is 333490.

    Browning also accepts the Character Skills Snapshot (CSS) from the Enrollment Management Association. Submission of CSS scores is optional.

Kindergarten applicants must turn five by December 31 of the year of entry. To be eligible for KinderFirst, applicants must turn five between May 1 and December 31 of the same year.

The application process for Kindergarten and KinderFirst follows the same steps through December. At that point, eligible families will be asked whether they would like their son to be considered for KinderFirst. Families who wish to be considered will register for a second assessment, designed specifically for KinderFirst candidates, which will take place on Saturday, January 9, 2027. Boys who complete the second assessment will be considered for both Kindergarten and KinderFirst, and families will learn of the placement recommendation at the time decisions are released.

The deadline for submitting a preliminary application and scheduling admission appointments is Tuesday, December 1, 2026—however, appointments are limited and will likely be filled before that date. Kindergarten applicants meet in small groups of up to six boys in a relaxed setting structured like an early childhood classroom. (60 minutes)

• Ask Me Anything: Our Head of School, John Botti, and our Head of Lower School, Eric Ogden, lead this Zoom session. Come ready to ask questions and learn about what distinguishes Browning's Lower School program. (45 minutes)

• Parent Conversation: Sit down with a member of our admission team for an in-person conversation. This is your opportunity to share more about your son and ask any questions you have about Browning. (30 minutes)
