Browning Celebrates Opening of New Upper School Campus
On May 14, The Browning School officially opened its new Upper School campus at 337 East 64th Street with a celebratory ribbon cutting. The event marked a major milestone in the School’s history, as students, faculty, trustees, and members of the building project team gathered for remarks and self-guided tours of the new space.
Located just a few blocks from Browning’s longtime home on East 62nd Street, the new 60,000-square-foot building is designed to support the School’s mission of relational, rigorous, and values-driven education. It features larger classrooms, flexible learning spaces, collaborative faculty areas, and a bright dining commons — all tailored to foster connection and dynamic learning.
The new campus also includes a regulation-size gymnasium, allowing Browning to host home games for the first time and strengthen school spirit. The building will welcome an expanded Upper School cohort this fall.
“This new building is not just an expansion — it is a transformative opportunity to strengthen the Browning community,” said Head of School John Botti. “While our students and teachers will now learn and work across two campuses, our core values of curiosity, dignity, purpose, and honesty will remain steadfast. The new Upper School facility gives us the space to live those values even more fully.”
