We know relocation can be exciting while also stressful—and when the move involves a child, it can be even more challenging. When evaluating which school may be right for your child, you will want to consider what type of environment they will thrive in (large or small, city or campus) and the type of educational approach that may suit them best. You may also want to consider the benefits of single-gender education.

Why a Boys’ School?

In a time of changing gender and cultural expectations, a boys’ school may, at first glance, appear dated. While boys can and do excel in many types of academic institutions, a boys’ school understands and celebrates them. Schools for boys provide a stimulating environment while also supporting their needs for deep relationships and an enduring sense of purpose.

Why Browning?

The Browning School provides a bold, hopeful, generous vision for today’s boys and tomorrow’s men. We are a top private K-12 school that provides a safe and spirited space for our students to discover and develop their best selves. A Browning education will provide your boys with the skills and dispositions needed so that they may contribute meaningfully to our world.

Browning by the numbers:

  • 400+ boys, Grades K-12 (in 3 divisions)

Our students travel to school from 70 zip codes. Students from Kindergarten through Grade 6 are eligible for free NYC school buses, and Browning provides complimentary bus service for all students living below 40th Street. In addition, there are many public transportation options available to get your son to and from school, including the 4,5,6, N,R,W, Q as well as the F lines of the MTA subway. Boys are given free or reduced-fare MetroCards to access the subway as well as public buses. Students that live close by often walk to school as well.
